It isn't mandatory for the visa itself. It is theoretically mandatory to teach english in China. Some schools will overlook it, or give you a fake one (for a fee, I have found), but legally, you're supposed to have one. If you get a real one (easy, cheapish) you can almost teach anywhere in the world.
no its not needed for teaching in China if you have a degree in education. TEFL is a short cut to teach in China.
Nope. Not needed.
But if you want a TEFL, it is easy and relativly cheap to get online within a day or two.
TEFL is short for Teaching English as a Foreign Language. And yes if you are working as a teacher and you got a z visa that says you are teacher you need a 120 hours TEFL cert. for the government. If you got a working z visa but you do not got a green book than you are teaching illegal. or your school made you a fake TEFL. they are schools in china that can provide you with a real TEFL that can be check online if they are real or fake. Most of the register TEFL school got a web checking system.
Probably so, for the orientation that is. But with the same token is it possible to get z visa if one has a University Diploma + TEFL certificate instead of a Bachelors degree???
i guess so.......also you need that to get your foreign expert certificate...........TEFL is as important as a BA degree.........you must have them both
