Q: Video Media Suggestions
What is the best video program to use to speak to friends abroad? Skype never seems to work clearly, with or without a VPN, and Whatsapp video is okay but only for your cellphone, and nobody outside of China has QQ, which works well for video, so any suggestions? Thanks.

I've been using Wechat for the last few months, mainly for voice chatting but video also works okay. Voicecalls are far superior in quality to Skype and Whatsapp.
Thanks, have you tried it with people abroad? I have done other non-China to non-China using QQ on wifi and that was okay, but I have never used Wechat

I use it with my family in the U.K. & with customers in New Zealand. Obviously works better on wifi but I've had video chats with NZ when they've been on 4G and it's been good.
I've been using wechat to talk with family and friends at home for some time. It is pretty good providing both of you have a decent stable internet connection.
