Q: What aspects of English learning do your students struggle with most?

Staying awake during class.
Being willing to speak and try new words without worrying about losing face.
Don't talk on the phone
Put the make-up away
This is not KTV so no singing and dancing on the desk

and reading in front of the class.
Many try to translate Chinese into English in their heads which inevitably results in Chinglish. The majority of my work with students seems to be breaking them of this habit.
Pronunciation is always a problem; the t,d,k,p,v, hard consonant sounds on the 'end' of words are usually softened way too much, or completely. Chinese doesn't have these sounds at the end of words.
The he, she, him, her, his, hers problem is common, because in Chinese it is all ta or tade.
Bound to be a bunch of other shit but those are the ones that jump to mind.
