There are people out there still not willing to believe there even is a virus, let alone listen to the scientists who tell us how to fight it, they think it's clever to do everything they can to spread it. And they have been.

I think at this point Plan A is 'hope for a vaccine that works'. Plan B is probably to 'hope we wake up one day and it's just gone'.

icnif77:

My relatives are having it. MD&school's director, both in their 30's with young kids. Both tested positive on Cofid ... and description of it isn't too nice. I was longing for the visit but they both advised against it.

Description of it is similar to flu .. pain/soreness in whole body, high temperature, coughing ... and overall "It isn't nice feeling when sick with Cofid ..".

Apparently, my niece/dentist caught it at work ... She is dressed like she'll fly to the Moon (an astronaut dress code) at her work, but ...

That sucks mate, hope they'll be ok.

I saw some people on tv who had the tube down the throat treatment which looks and sounds f*cking horiffic but it's apparantly better than suffocating, which is what they were doing before they got the tube.

Edit : not suggesting your rellies will have to go through that, sounds like they got a much milder dose but it can definitely be a horrible experience for some.

For your last paragraph ... you have to add '</p>' (as the end of previous paragraph) + '<p>' (as the beginning of new paragraph), so to get normal font, you should add '</p><p>' between the paragraphs.

You can spot proper software format as you click edit ...

Yeah, they are out of it ... and they roam outside already. Only niece tested positive ...

I 'hear' all Cofid description as harder flu with body temp. around 40*. You're ill. everything hurts, coughing and such. After a week in bed, you're good to go.

Now, Cofid impact at older people (+60 years old) is most likely much harder, i.e. tubes and such ... Doesn't matter what, I hate to be sick ..

I ain't sure what's worst, 'cofid' or 'lockdown' ..

Now, we have to prevent 2nd wave in EU ... meaning, mask on while outside, distancing and other disinfect everything BS. All stores are closed again ...

I won't go for the vaccination ... doesn't matter what.

I'll probably hold off on anything rushed into production by desperate politicians too, but what if in, say, 6 months time there's a vaccine that seems fairly reliable and safe, and that will pretty much open up the world again to anyone who can show they've had their shots? You want a visa to country X? Present certified proof of vaccination. Want to get a job where you're in contact with other people? Need a certificate...

I don't think they want us dead but they do want us all out  there shopping and spending money again. Like I said, politicians rushing through vaccines....

They usually take years to develop, test etc and I'm sure there are lots of mistakes before they get it right so be sceptical of any miracle cures just in time for the Christmas retail frenzy.

Chinese Authorities Scramble To Suppress Biggest COVID-19 Outbreak In Months

Health authorities reported 137 new cases on Sunday in Xinjiang Province.

Chinese authorities are scrambling to suppress yet another outbreak in far-flung Xinjiang after a 17-year-old garment factory worker tested positive.

Health authorities reported 137 new cases on Sunday, all of which were confirmed in Xinjiang Province, making this by far the largest new outbreak since the Spring. In keeping with Beijing's prescribed "wartime posture" approach, authorities last night launched a mass-testing campaign to try and test all 4.75 million residents in and around the city of Kashgar. A couple of weeks ago, authorities pulled off a similarly massive testing drive in Qingdao, a city in the eastern Shangdong Province.

The new cases, all classified as asymptomatic, were linked to a factory in Shufu county where the 17-year-old girl and her parents worked, according to the Xinjiang health commission, which held a press briefing on Sunday following an exhaustive investigation of the source of the outbreak by Beijing's NHC.

As of Sunday afternoon more than 2.8 million samples had been collected in the area and the rest would be completed within two days, the city government said in a statement.

Kashgar, near the country's borders with Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, is the cultural home of China's Turkic Muslim ethnic Uighurs, a group that the CCP has relentlessly pressed into reeducation camps and concentration camps to force them to accept the country's governing Communist ideology.

BoJo Imposes 1-Month Lockdown On England As UK COVID-19 Cases Top 1 Million: Live Updates

Sat, 10/31/2020 - 15:44

Summary:

    *Portugal restrictions on movement

    *BoJo announces 1 month lockdown

*UK COVID-19 cases top 1 million

*NY Gov announces new quarantine rules

    *BoJo weighs one-month lockdown

    *US reports record new cases

    *North Dakota worst-hit state

    *New cases in Iran fall

    *China reports 33 new cases

    *Poland reports 21k new cases

*Brazil strikes deal to buy Chinese vaccine

Update (15:40ET): As the UK's confirmed cases topped the 1 million mark, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has announced the nationwide lockdown affecting all of England (the three other constituent nations of the UK can set their own independent policy).

Beginning Thursday, bars, restaurants and nonessential stores will close, and people will be ordered to stay home with a few limited exceptions, including work, school and exercise.

BoJo said during an afternoon news conference that schools will remain open, confirming that the UK's lockdown of England will follow roughly the same rules as the lockdowns in France and Germany, with schools remaining open, instead of closing like they did in the spring.

“We’ve got to be humble in the face of nature. In this country, alas, as across much of Europe, the virus is spreading even faster than the reasonable worst-case scenario of our scientific advisers,” he said.

The move is hardly a surprise, and was preceded by press trial balloons which we reported on earlier today. It comes as the UK and the 27 members of the EU have reported, on average, 195,000 new cases a day over the last 7 days.

Who's the greeter beside WHO's Tedros on this pic?

WHO's Tedros Self-Quarantines After COVID-19 Exposure

"It is critically important that we all comply with health guidance."

After giving conflicting advice in the early days of the Pandemic and reportedly assisting China in covering up the disease's severity and spread (an allegation published in Der Spiegel which has been denied), tho WHO is recommending that people be vigilant about hand-washing, wearing masks and social distancing. The organization has also called on local and federal governments to locate, isolate, test, treat and trace the contacts of the infected.

Those who thinks Cocid is "just a flu" are narrowminded. They do not understand the concept of an pandemic.

But, we seem to be learning nothing from this.

We were all conditioned to think that only the ignorant, filthy Middle Age heathens could get the Black Death,, then it popped up again early 20th Century, so why shouldn't we get it again in the Modern Age?  Just ride it out and see how things go. 8+ bilion population is really f'ng up the planet anyway,,,,,   I forget, but didn't Black Death kill like one of every two Europeans?  Maybe we are in for the same thing.

*yeah,,, I know they were different 'organisms' doing the killing.
