Q: What is "sticky blood"?

My future father-in-law has been for a health check today and has been diagnosed with "sticky blood". I've tried googling it but the answers have been erratic.  Does anybody with knowledge of TCM have any idea what "sticky blood" is?

Thanks.

Sticky blood is when your blood is thicker than normal and tends to form clots in your arteries and veins because coagulates faster.  It is also known as Hughes syndrome.

Air pollution can also cause sticky blood. Because the small pollution parts will enter your blood, it will stick together. I've read about examination at time of the olympics. Normal healthy chinese young people didn't had sticky blood during the olympics (because the air quality was good at that time). But after the olympics, they also had sticky blood.

Does your future father-in-law also lives in Shenyang? The air quality isn't so good there, mabe this causes the problem. You can think about using an air cleaner at home.

Thanks for the comment but they he doesn't live in the city.  They are from the countryside near a smaller city in the province where the air is much, much cleaner.
