Since they all look alike, i think many come from the same plant. many use the same motors or controlers and not much more to them,,altho some are made on a Honda or Yamaha frame, so they are stronger. I like that they get re-badged as Yamaha, Honda or Suzuki when they don't make an electric scooter,, or even funnier the almost brand names because the Chinese think it says a brand name,, Hyonda ,Honyda Sukuzi,  I have a Yahaya,, I just bought a style/colour I liked (actually GF did), looked at the motor wattage and battery amps 500/800w , 20 A

try Luyuan brand

I can truly not recommend any, since to me quality of construction of any Chinese made e-byke leaves a lot to be desired.  I bought one, I do not know who made it (it is in Chinese).

But the darn thing has had a bunch of minor problems, and TG I bought it from family members (new, not used), and they do all the required repair at no cost.

Things like for example, not one nut has a lock washer on, so as you ride the darn nuts become loose and fall of, so before you know, the byke "rattles" as you drive it, like you have a bunch of empty cans tied behind you.  Could not find any lock washers in China, so they did take a candle and applied a bunch of wax on bolt threats.  It worked about 50 % so far.  So, every two weeks grab a screwdriver and a set of pliers and re-tie all nuts to avoid this.

Another thing, the welding on the chrome bar around the byke has broken off with vibration about 3 times,  They do not make a full weld, just a tack.

Between battery and electric motor, there was like a circuit breaker, rated at 50 amps.  Within one month it failed, replaced it and failed again within two weeks.  I just removed it from circuit and tied wires together.  There is no real need for a breaker there, mostly as a safety measure to turn off as you leave the byke parked.

The battery as new was good for maybe 100 to 120 kilometers of travel.  Six months after, the best I get is 60 Kms out of one charge.  And I am supposed to have the best battery available in Chinese market today.

From the family members that own the byke salesroom, I heard that actual bykes made in Japan, even if more expensive, last a lot longer than anyone made in China.

TedDBayer:

do you have lithium battery? or acid? I get aqbout 30kms, but I drive at least 30.

I know the quality sucks. I looked at scooters at home, Luyuan gets rebadged as Gio. Alot of guys take them apart and put them together with a little more care, Lock-tite and lock washers,, the dealers say almost every bike is wired differently. the frames flex, try and get bigger tires like 3.00 x 10. But they sell cheap cause they are. I can buy one for about $500 plus shipping in Canada. I have an Italian style scooter 500/800 watt motor, 48 volt, 20 amp. 12 amp will gwet less distance.  Also look for a disc brake , some have them,, my brake doesn't always stop in the rain. The asking price for mine was 3660 to 2800, so I bought for 2700y with trunk and lock thrown in.

A:Chinese are generally pretty tolerant friendly and accepting whatever foreigners do.  I spent 15 years in China but I wouldn't say there are that many don'ts....Don't assume that many people speak English though and learn some Chinese. Don't speak much about politics unless you want to praise Chinese system.  -- Natalie363
