Q: Where are all the fresh drinks?
Do you look at the dates marked on drink bottles when you buy them? Last night I went to my local grocery store to stock up and could not find anything made in 2014. Milk tea, milk coffee, coconut milk and even the Chinese drink in the red can, all from 2013. Is it just bad planning in manufacturing or am I just living in a crappy place that gets all the old stuff?

Now that you mentioned it, I really should start looking at them. Most of the time I just pick it up and go. I noticed that no one actually looks at the expiry dates on packaged food and drinks. I suppose everyone thinks that so long as it's in a sealed container it's okay.
when i arrived, i would spend minutes looking for 'best by' dates on different products. much to the amusement of the locals.
not surprsingly i gave up.

yes, I always check dates, depends a lot on the product type, e.g. for toilet paper, production date much less important than for orange juice.
I think for a coke, probably doesn't matter, I know from back home that the main reason why soft drinks have expiration dates as they do is due to legislation rather than that they drop in safety (and it's not like the vitamins fizzle from coke)
