Q: where to find a cheap but good apartment in downtown Qingdao.

I have been looking for an apartment near jusco downtown. it seems hard to find one in that area.

The usual best way is to send a non-white faced friend to the estate agents to ask around. we've also seen apartments because people had banners with their phone number hanging on the balcony. 

In most cities, "down town" means expensive, and especially in China, I find that just being a bit away from city center (be it 10 minutes walk away) the price drops a lot.
