I would say America, I think American still has the largest tourism market, and now that the dollars value is dropping, a lot more chinese can afford a trip to Disney World, The Big Apple, Las Vegas, plus so many more really interesting destination spots. ( This guy should be a travel agent )
America? Australia? Come on. Vietnam, Thailand or Indonesia probably get way more. They're closer and easier to get visas too.
Hmm I didn't think of those . I think I assumed Chinese looked down on those places and didn't find them worthy of their rmb
nevermind:
I wager they are the only places they can afford to travel. Don't forget a trip to the USA or Australia is a LOT Of money for your average Chinese person. But, if they go to Thailand or places like that, it's like going to mexico for AMericans.
You are right. Chinese do not travel to those places for pleasure (S.E Asia). They go there for work. USA is far and away the most popular tourist destination. Among Asian nations, Japan (ironically) is most popular.
nevermind:
You're forgetting they only recently were allowed to visit Japan outside of group tours. As well, there's tons of people who can't afford Japan or the US, so they go to SE asia. Did some research. 1.4 million Chinese tourists to Japan last year VS. 2.5 million for Laos, Cambodia, VIetnam Thailand.

I thought that was Taiwan where they were only as of recent allowed to visit outside of group tours ... Japan , too ??
