Q: Who is correct: America or China over Syria?

China, along with Russia, has vetoed the UN resolution to increase sanctions on Syria as Assad continues to wage war against his own people. Bearing in mind past attempts at intervention in the Middle East is it China or America that is pursuing the better policy?

I think the reasons they are propping up Syria is obvious.  I don't think I should go into them here.
But I will say that the worse this gets and the more blood is shed, China and Russia will be complicit in this.  I find it unconcionable and disgusting.

Sangoku:

Russia wants to show it's still a superpower able to compete against "Western" resolutions (like in the old cold war mentality). So they veto the resolution. China wants to show it's a superpower able to compete against Western countries, without really understanding the issues or problems in play. But above all, all demonstrations against the authority will never receive any support by China, otherwise it would mean that demonstrations by Tibetans, Ouighours or other Chinese citizen against the Chinese government could be also tolerated as it happens in Syria now.

I agree with the Dude that this is not the place to discuss this.  But without mentioning country names, when monetary gains and political power have presecence over human lives and bloodshed, something is totally rotten. crying  broken heart

No matter  who has the better policy, I wouldn't say either have a great policy. There's probably no fully good way to go about this, especially when it comes to politics.
