Q: Why Chinese girls like to connive together to isolate a colleague they don't like?

I found if a Chinese girl don't like you, she'll connive with other girls who are friends with her at working place to isolate one girl. I found it weird and that's how I experiencing it recently.

I wonder why Chinese girls do that? I really hate that? I am also Chinese but I just don't like doing that shit.

It's like saying if you aren't standing with me to isolate her, we will isolate you. So childish.

Common practice all over the world: not just in China

philbravery:

I'm actually seeing it in my workplace at the moment. And they are all Australian women ages from 21 to 50. To me it seems to have started from a power stuggle when the new team leader started

Because it's a behaviour pattern developed tens of thousands of years ago, to keep the tribe members subservient to the needs of the tribe... at a time where being ousted usually meant dying. Living with the tribe gave you support when needed (especially with basic survival - food!)

In today's world, that means conformity. And, usually, conformity to a lower standard. Being better than the others will guarantee being culled out of the group... as it engenders fear and jealousy (of being noticed and acknowledged) It also threatens them because it means if they don't lift their game, they're the ones who get kicked out - not the better staff member.

So, having a cliche of girls all gossiping about the 'bad' one would usually mean the boss will remove the 'troubled' one... harmony in the workplace, and all that.

I'm usually the one on the outside... I'm also usually the best worker! The one others turn to because they know they can rely on me to get the job done right.. the FIRST time!

Viki87:

I will be the troubled one hot removed, usually I am the better one at working place but I am usually the enermy of all.

As the manager, the bad apples can't meet my standard and will go say bad things about me to the boss and the boss will replace the manager. Lol And I found a lot of sales are just incompetent.

A:I had a similar experience in HK. If I recall correctly, before or at the Z visa application, I had to submit ME from the ordinary HK clinic, where I explained why I need ME and I asked them to examine only necessary things (I don't remember the cost ...), and then ... I got Z stamp and when back in China, I had to complete another RP ME, which was on the employer, i.e. included in the Contract ...We've never discussed refund of payment for HK ME with my employer. Year 2013 ...I'd say, that is a regular thingy embassies around the world require, before issuing visas for LT stay in the country. "Vladimir Vladimiro-Witch ras-Putin" (LOL@your pronunciation ..) demands the same thingy before granting LT stay in Ruski.  ... Haa, 2013 was the Snowden's year. I was in Kowloon at the time of his landing .. with all these files ... I'm-Still-in-LMAO-State ... Cost for the ME in HK was around HK$ 2000/200 EUR, and ME was kind of swift, quicker and way shorter than on the mainland ... -- icnif77
