Q: why don't chinese hate britian and france (like they hate japan)?
even britian and france looted and did many bad things to china ..why do chinese people only hate japanese ??
That's a good question! My guess is that despite having colonies here, overall Britain and France didn't commit the worst crimes here. Sure, people were killed during The Opium War etc. but they did nothing like the Japanese which was massacering and raping millions in the most cruel way possible. Also, Britain and France also left behind some very positive things...what would Hong Kong be now if the British hadn't settled there? Or if Shanghai didn't have the French Concession?
what would taiwan be without japanese occupation???

this is very simple china wants the money from france and england so they are playing nice. also becoz the whole japanese thing happened during the prc fight to claim china it was very useful to unite chinese under the prc banner, and has held true to this day. "remember what japan did, japan has an army waiting at china's border to attack at any minute, fear japan support the prc or else japan will invade" many people here believe japan has an army ready to invade china despite the fact there are many japanese products sold here
Nanking Massacre only the one sample of japan army's crimes. we usually call "八年抗战" that mean we fright with japan eight years(1937-1945), but before 1937 chinese already fight with them in a long time. they invade north-east china since 1917 , conquered Qingdao from chinese goverment. and invade chinese places one by one.
japan army was the brutest army ever, when they come in china, they slave chinese people take their fortunes. they kill people who against them , rape chinese women and girls.use living people test their germ weapon, when some china areas fright them strongly, they will kill locall people all made "无人区"(empty zone).
if you want know more about these situations, i highly recommand a book <The Rape of Nanking>《南京暴行：被遗忘的大屠杀》. this book write by a chinese talented girl name "张纯如"（Iris Chang）. she grown up in american and graduated from Illinois University, i think her book will help you understand what real happen between china and japan in the past times.
France and Japan didn't actively seek to massacre the Chinese population like the Japanese did. Japanese forces used Chinese citizens for bizarre medical experiments, infected entire cities with plague, killed entire cities of people, and did some of the most atrocious things in human history. So, while WW2 might have been many decades ago, it's understandable that the hatred would remain strong after so much time.
Also, most of them barely know what Britain and France are.
Opium wars and the 100 year seieze of hong kong. Brits have been in china a long time. they go them drug addicted. British and United States merchants brought opium from British India to the coast of China

False. Chinese people were already addicted to opium and it was widely available in China before the British began importing it. They just sold it at better prices than the Chinese merchants and it hurt local businesses and that's when the government started whining. That was strictly British so don't even try to drag the US into the issue. Go read a book.

Well i'm not too fond of colonialists either, no one should hate any country , hate is an individual feeling bred from fear. Countries don't hate, people do.
