Q: Are all the part-time jobs listed on ECC illegal?

I was browsing the job section of the website and looked at some part-time jobs. It got me thinking. Your not allowed to work for any other company other than the one that provides you the work visa. Your not supposed to work for more than 1 company. Nearly all part-time jobs can't provide work visas. Does that mean all the part-time employers are trying to hire people illegally? Does everyone who takes the jobs brraking the law? I understand in very rare circumstances universities allow students to study but that is very rare.

Your thinking is 100% correct.

it is illegal to have a part time job if you come from Foreignerland.

It is unethical and shameful that these jobs (traps) should be hosted on a website that toes the party line so diligently.

Of course.

I was watching Thai boxing on GZ tv tonight. How the fuck can someone get a visa as a towel holder?

expatlife26:

if they're with the entourage/staff of a fighter on the tour circuit I would think they're on some kind of business visa employed on a non-chinese contract.

The one that I don't get are the nannys/housekeepers from the philipines. I know people that have them and they do a MUCH better job than the locals, but the answer for "How do you hire them?" is always "through the agency".

So I don't understand that one at all. Seems like the last type of job an overpopulated low-income country would need to import labor for. But there it is.

BTW, just in case anybody might think it's just racism/anti-china bias and wants to ask "How do they do a better job?", both the people I have known to employ them have said that it's because they actually listen to rules and boundaries the parents would like to set for their child.

The local nannies will take your instructions and just ignore them. Apply all their own values to the situations and disregard what the parents want. Parents says no nap after lunch or proscribe a certain diet, the philipino nannies actually listen. The local nannies will just do what they feel like.

Well, in their defense... They don't say, they are offering you any work visa for part-time work... So maybe these jobs are simply offered to Chinese, returning home Chinese (CBA), ABC, or English native speakers who managed to get Chinese green card....

I'm just saying!!
