After my Daughters Ping Pong lesson , We went to a small hamburger shop for ice cream.
the girl at the counter was just finishing off a order and called out (politelyi might add) to the well dressed girl and her male companion .
Not once but 4 times and was still ignored
so the waitress served my daughter and then procceded to put a order together for a lady not as well dressed in her late 30s
after this lady recevied her order she politely in passing told the girl and her friend that their order was on the counter waiting for them .
well if looks could kill ,
Now the girl thinks everybody there was below her station gets up and goes to the counter complaining of bad service and collects her order
Well you stuck up Bitch those other LADIES have more Class in their little toe than you will ever have
how often have you seen something similar ?
class is how you behave when nobody is watching, no money is involved, no bosses of family and friends, how do you treat your fellow human that may never see you again and no one is watching, when it doesn't matter, does it matter to you.
i once saw Chris Matthews, a television news celebrity chew out a 16 yr old teenage girl in washington dc for an order of pizza when the place was short of help, this guy makes millions and he was a complete ahole and of course he did this in front of his kids and wife to show how famous he his and mentioned that lovely phrase "do you know who i am", sorry ahole i play with a phone not a tv, the girl had no idea who he was, it was a kodak deer in the headlights moment.
i told him he was acting like nero in his on little world and he said he would have me arrested, but when i mentioned the video camera in my car on the dash, he left rather quickly, to bad the camera only records when the ignition is on, oh well.
class has nothing to do with income.
I am working class... but I listen to Beethoven and Mozart at work.
ah well, this isn't the worst story of lack-of-class i've heard. it isn'tthat big of a deal really: some restaurants deliver, others have counter pickup. actually, so few places have counter pickup system here, that i can hardly fault the customers for expecting delivery.
would you call an American classless, when he angrily waits at a supermarket checkout for someone to pack his bags for him? it's simply what he is accustomed to back home, and if you had a bad day (do Chinese have BCDs?), you have no patience for disappointing surprises.

Or, just another day in paradise. Stop, think twice. Ting bu dong. Bu zhi dao.
all societies have people of different class, be it of educational, economical or whatever type. Coming from the truly socialist northern Europe, China is a horrible place. I simply don't understand why it matters if people have a fancy title and a good income, what matters is who they are as people. China and US are almost identical in that manner, although in the US it is not unacceptable to praise the efforts of the downtrodden masses.

There's plenty of class in China! Granted, most of it is extremely low class... and a burgeoning middle class... and a very elite upper class.....
Plenty of IELTS and TOEFL classes....
Well...
I have seen two police officers fight each other in a police station.
I have seen a male gym staff member try to beat up a female gym staff member.
I have seen gangs of men beat on one guy many times.
There are people with class in China, it is just that there are FAR MORE people without class and the level to which they are devoid of class is close to a cave man at best.
coineineagh:
cavemen were the community builders of their era. your comparison doesn't do them justice.
Stories similar to yours are regular fare on NotAlwaysRight.com. It's mostly for retail experiences like yours. They have other sites for teachers/schools, romance, etc., but I rarely bother to look at those so I don't know if they're any good. The first, main site is pretty good.
For an example of real Chinese class take a look at this story,

Had some chats over beers this weekend with a UK collleague.
I working class, champagne socialist. He right wing Thatcherite.
We both agree... the biggest issue in the Uk at the moment is the growth of the welfare dependant underclass.
The Chinese system does not have this issue.
To be a Yob in China, you need money. In the UK, the Goverenment pay people to be yobs.
If you wanna show the ladies you got class in China, 3 simple steps -
Dress to impress (Gold chains and shit help)
Drink a few shots of baiju
Speak loudly and obnoxiously down the phone and towards people like they are filth
That's class for you folks!
