Q: I wonder why all the guys I dated never gifted me roses?

I really like roses, but all the guys I dated gifted me roses. All the time, I have to buy roses by myself. That's sad.

They would buy me food, clothes.,etc. but never a rose.

Is the younger generation less romantic? Or romantic in a different way?

I know roses used to be a big thing... perhaps it's just not as meaningful anymore...???

I don't know about everyone and all countries, but in the US giving a girl red roses used to be a big deal.  Not quite up there with proposing marriage, but darn near.  A guy only gave red roses to the lady that he was really in love with and wanted things to be pretty darn serious between them.

Why some guys never gifted you with them, who knows?  Maybe they think it was too big a step, or maybe they just don't know anything about giving flowers?  Did they do other romantic things for you?  I guess you said they took you out for dinner and some bought you other types of gifts.

i find most Chinese girls and women never evolve beyond the Disney definition of 'romantic' where life is all 'happy endings' (no pun intended), flowers and songs (and loads of superficial gifts).

the late Mr B didn't need to give me flowers, chocolates or other such crap, and he knew it.

it is the small personal gestures that are the most 'romantic' (ugh - terrible word) that show a caring knowledge of the other, and they more often than not don't involve money but time and thought.

the most romantic thing he did was arrive home with fresh ginger one winter when i had flu after having spent hours doing food shopping, in shitty weather, for us both, and making dinner for me.

if you are a woman, or man, that requires the constant reassurance of gifts such as flowers from your special someone, then there is little trust in the relationship or it is just superficial.

you like roses?

then buy them yourself already and don't be so cheap to expect a three-week 'boyfriend' to do it.

The most precious gift you give in a relationship is your time and trust in another person..it is life and is too precious to be wasted and is your responsibility to invest

Iphone X is the new red rose Smile

As a matter of interest viki, would you go for 8 or X?

I think its a bit of a marketing blunder. Think back to the Iphone 5 and 5c.

A:  It depends on which part of the lake region you want to visit. Most start from NanChang, the shortest distance to the lake is about 30km  and 186km to the government run wetland park, marked by the hut shape symbol on the upper right corner of the map below

October is too early to see the migratory Siberian cranes. November onwards is better, their number peaking in between December and January. The dry season lasts from Sept to April.

Here are some photos taken by a retired local during his self-drive tour of Poyang Lake, dating Oct. 17, 2016.
