im having an awful experience as of now. Im from the Uk first of all. Simply, My visa expires in a few day, i booked my ticket out of here, but im getting ready to go to the airport and cant find my passport. Its nowhere to be found. I dont have enough time to get to beijing to get an ETD as i now cant travel by train and my flight leaves very soon.Really need some advice. What will happen when i get to the airport? Could i call the embassy there and they arrange something? Any advice?
That would be an awful experience.
I would call your embassy asap, they might be able to suggest something or give you a temporary replacement or something. I'm sure they would have seen this before.
You may also need something from the PSB to say that you still have a valid visa in order to leave the country. Do you at least have a copy of your visa and passport front page, or can you get one? If you have been working here your employer would probably have copies.
In the mean time, turn the place upside down trying to find your passport.
Good luck mate.

What ever you do do not go to the airport without a passport you would be wasting your time doing that. Contact your embassy asap. Jeez. If that happen to me I would be a mess. Take a deep breath and know there is a solution to this. First thing, contact your embassy. Good luck!
Given that tourists have passports stolen far too regularly, it should be something that the embassy will be prepared to deal with.
After you've asked the embassy, you will need to go to the police station to report that it's been stolen (do NOT say 'lost'), and get a police report in writing. I expect you'd then need to go to the local PSB (if your town/city has a local one!), and tell them the situation, and show them the police report.
I hope your flight ticket is one of those not-too-expensive-to-change ones... otherwise.. goodbye money! (if you've got insurance, that should cover it... and, again, you'll need to have that police report).
So did you evolve into a bird and fly out or solve your problem, inquiring minds would like to know the conclusion to your saga.
