Q: Is there any point in buying a humidifier?

My nasal passages are irritated because of Beijing's extremely dry air and am thinking of buying a humidifier as a result. Has anyone ever used one before? Do they actually make a difference?

I have one in my bedroom.  It really does make a difference, so yes, I do think it is worth having.

I used to have one when I just got here, and I remember my skin not feeling like sand paper at that time, so I guess it is effective. I lost it afterwards, and got used to the dryness, but I kinda wish I had one right now.

Glass of water does the job, you'll be surprised how quickly it disappears.

They make quite a big difference. ... Beijing has dry air so getting a humidifier would be a smart move to make. I actually need to start using mine because my lips have become totally dry and chapped as a result from this weather. ..
