i have noticed chinese both men and women bald when they are old.i know with old age comes alot of losses...teeth,skin elasticity, bones weaken n hair loss in some cases but the balding seems to happen to all the old chinese pipo.am from a very extended african family so i have about 10 grannies and seen lots of old people back home who lost many things to old age but still have full heads of hair, grey but full.so why here?
they care for the hairs, chinese oldies find it hard to take care of hairs in old age i guess so they cut. things varies from culture to culture, norms and trends as well but long hairs look great with women, it changes there personality, curl hairs of african people that amazing and beautiful.
sandywagy:
they hair isnt cut,its usually long but appears to be falling out around the middle.nywy cud the not takn care of it tho that cant b the situation for EVERY old person in china
That is a good question, I dont really notice it with the men since I too have male pattern baldness, but a lot of older women have noticeably thinning hair just like MPB.
I would assume that is is related to DNA and/or nutrition (or lack thereoff) but I am not sure and have wondered about that myself.
Men get depressed when we start to lose our hair, for the ladies I understand it is much worse.
Caucasian women get thinning hair also. Often from ages 25 to 35 , but generally older.
There are so many reasons for female hair loss :( And any of these reasons could be the culprit for Chinese women. Or any woman. It might be more noticeable in Chinese women because they keep their hair longer than most older women in the west.
Simple things like pulling it back in a tight pony or tight braids.
Chemical processing (hair color), rigorous brushing, etc.
Hereditary.
Chemical Pollutants.
Too much Vit A. (Maybe not so much this one, because it's found mostly in animal protein, but also in greens, carrots and sweet tater)
Health reasons: pregnancy, thyroid, anemia, skin conditions, and others.
Menopause.
Extreme stress.
Dramatic Weightloss.
Physical Trauma like surgery.
The last one I know well. I lost about 30% of my hair after I had several surgeries in about a month last summer. Fortunately, it's growing back. I don't know if it's growing back because of the vits I'm taking, or because I'm healthy again, or a combo of the two.
ohh, do you notice gods in china are bald? Haha, means good luck in China. Usually these people are much more smart.
You are african and you are speaking about somebody from somewhere else...so the best answer here would be genetics. And I agree with you that many africans do have hair except if they never had hair to begin with which I know a lot of africans that do. Balding can be caused by many factors including environment, stress levels, genetics, eating habits, exposure to the sun etc.,
Along with the other posts, I would like to add something my wife generally says. China has not been open for many years, the as of now the mix of blood isn't really there, and the ones who are typically are the healthiest and remains that way for sometime, whereas the Chinese typically are marrying and birthing babies that are closer to recent family bloodlines which in turn causes more birth defects, rare autoimmune diseases, balding, early gray hair and a general all around ability to get ill easy.
