Q: Why is the "Answer of the Day" 14 weeks old?

The Answer of the Day is worth 20 points, by far the largest amount of points you can earn for any answer.  But it's been 14 weeks since the last time anyone was awarded this bonus.

How is Raincoats Boy in Russia supposed to clothe his people if The Cat is being so stingy with the points?

I awarded that AOTD. The front page stopped updating after that one, and for a few weeks after the points were still awarded, but the front page would not update.

Its a shame AOTD seems to have been stopped. It was a great way to keep new posters engaged.

We can all spot a five post poster who might become a 500 post poster. Upvotes and AOTD were great tools to keep things turning over as we waited for the next epic thread. Alas no more.

You're looking at it the wrong way, it was such a great answer it's been answeer of the day for over 100 days running.

The people who run this site are too busy making puppet accounts to ask dumb questions to generate hits.

Maybe the website is broken. Or no one cares to update it anymore.

Now the "Answer of the Day" is 17 weeks old (1/3 of a year).

But who's counting?

Now we're up to 18 weeks with no change in the "Answer of the Day".

This is one measure of how apathetic and absent the Admin is.

If only there was a living, breathing Admin . . . .

Sigh.

As teddy said, it was just really such an amazing answer.

Scots said something about an aotd update glitch, don't listen to him. Fake news, people, fake news from the lying mainstream media.

The real victim here is me, who has been robbed of all the aotd bonus points since after the first day. Credit where credit is due, I say.

A:I had a similar experience in HK. If I recall correctly, before or at the Z visa application, I had to submit ME from the ordinary HK clinic, where I explained why I need ME and I asked them to examine only necessary things (I don't remember the cost ...), and then ... I got Z stamp and when back in China, I had to complete another RP ME, which was on the employer, i.e. included in the Contract ...We've never discussed refund of payment for HK ME with my employer. Year 2013 ...I'd say, that is a regular thingy embassies around the world require, before issuing visas for LT stay in the country. "Vladimir Vladimiro-Witch ras-Putin" (LOL@your pronunciation ..) demands the same thingy before granting LT stay in Ruski.  ... Haa, 2013 was the Snowden's year. I was in Kowloon at the time of his landing .. with all these files ... I'm-Still-in-LMAO-State ... Cost for the ME in HK was around HK$ 2000/200 EUR, and ME was kind of swift, quicker and way shorter than on the mainland ... -- icnif77
