My Chinese is good and my native language is English.
Does anyone have any suggestions for jobs in China or back home that value bilingual speakers? I feel like international businesses want to establish themselves in China.
Working for a Chinese firm who needs sales for western market. But you'll have to communicate with your Chinese colleagues and employers and the factories too.
Or working for a foreign firm who's market is in China.
My foreign colleague sometimes turned to me for help as I am bilingual.
most international business are being fleeced, copied and scammed in china. when the chinese learn your business as a partner, they get a friend to start a competitor, your chinese partner sends the customers to the friend and then you go home with a hole in your pocket or worse the government gives an exclusive right to some jerk like wanda, who builds all the malls in china and amusement parks with no competitor in return for stock options in a blind trust in hong kong for all the big ccp leaders.
or you can pay off the government with fines like tax fraud, microsoft 120 million dollars, or bribe the government, apple putting 1 billion into an uber competitor. bottom line doing business in china is like marrying a prostitute, you will definitely get screwed, but the pleasure is not worth the long term poverty, you could become a scammer for the chinese and inflate inventory that does not exist like the scam done to Caterpillar a few years ago that cost the company a few billion and crashed the stock, which i bought at the bottom, thank you china for the easy money. please scam mcdonalds again, buying at 92 and selling at 120 in 4 months was great.
if your chinese is really proficient. the us embassy has a test to work for the state department, had a friend that passed the test and took a job in beijing but if your over 42, your to old to appy. age discrimination is alive and well even in the government.
You missed the boat. Have a look for "tom clissold" on amazon kindle. "Mr China"
You can focse on a wechat flatform Ubee.I think it is useful and interesting for foreigners who can speak Chinese.
Traveling Poet, just get a harp, ukulele, or some stringed instrument

So you are basically saying you can speak Chinese and English. But I don't think your Chinese is as good as a local Chinese. And it is China here so the fact that 'you can speak Chinese' isn't really that much as an advantage as everyone speaks better Chinese!
Maybe a Chinese person's English level is better than your Chinese level don't you think? And they have relations here and perhaps some really good degree in a really good field.
I'm thinking maybe you can be an actor for some Chinese films because apparently your look can be an advantage and you can speak Chinese so maybe you can get some good roles.
Maybe you have some other skills other than language skills? The key of a getting a good job is to be able to do things that not many can do...so maybe...an adult action movie star that speaks Chinese?

In my company, the company needs westerners to explore the western market. It's what literally the Chinese have no advantage. Westerners usually trust westerners in the business feild. So your look will be a bonus while meeting clients in exhibition.
But you will probally need to coordinate with diffrent department. If you are working in China office, you will probally find yourself work with a lot of Chinese from diffrent department(sourcing,logisticas,accountant.,etc).
With regard to all of those, a bilingual westerner will probally land with a good job.
In my company, the western colleague will probally get relocated in the western branch. The company has a plan for it.
